Continuing education credits
Touchpoint is an ARCB approved provider. This workshop is worth 14 CEU's

Subjects for the workshop

  • Acute and chronic bronchitis - why is it chronic?COPD - what is it really?
  • Asthma - can the breathing pattern be the cause?
  • Acute and chronic sinusitis - are fungi part of the picture?
  • Allergic rhinitis, understand the quick reactions of mucous membranes

Worldwide, over 1 billion people suffer from chronic respiratory problems (World Health Organization 2003).

Most common are non-communicative diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and allergic rhinitis (hay fever).

A new understanding of these diseases is slowly emerging. The new focus is on inflammatory processes as the primary cause.

To achieve sustainable improvements for these diseases, we must help the body towards a state with less inflammation, a more balanced immune system, better overall communication between the body's cells, more appropriate use of the diaphragm, optimal diet, low stress level, peace of mind, etc.

A selection of reflexology techniques

  • Using dorsal and plantar aspects of the same reflexes
  • Reflexes for respiratory muscles
  • Reflexes for the diaphragm and its nerve supply
  • Nerve reflex point for the phrenicus nerve, and the connection between the diaphragm and inner organs
  • Reflex for the phrenic plexus - or is it the solar plexus?
  • Reflexes for bronchi and their concentration of lymph nodes
  • Treating the nose and sinuses in a new way
  • Nerve reflex point for the facial nerve, innervation of the mucous membranes in the nose and sinuses
  • Nerve reflex point for the trigeminal ganglion, a good point with painful sinuses

Respiration is a complex fumction, but with many therapeutic approaches.

With reflexology techniques, we can optimize the immune system, reduce the stress response, help tissue repair and improve the breathing pattern.

Breathing philosophy

  • Breathing as a bridge between the conscious and the unconscious
  • Spirit and breath
  • Respiratory rhythms - chronobiology
  • Expansion - contraction
  • Connections to the heart

Additional techniques for self-treatment

  • The Buteyko method for training a new breathing pattern
  • Simple dietary guidelines for asthma and other respiratory problems
  • Neuro-lymphatic reflex points after Chapman

Work sequence

The work sequence shows all the techniques we teach in the workshop.

In Touchpoint’s continuing education classes we primarily present techniques from classical and nerve reflexology, and a few selected body techniques.

Towards the end of the course, we discuss the work sequence, which, built on our clinical experiences, is meant as an inspirational tool and a way to remember the new techniques.

Instructors: Dorthe Krogsgaard & Peter Lund Frandsen

On Touchpoint courses and workshops you benefit from having two instructors throughout the days. Dorthe Krogsgaard and Peter Lund Frandsen are both highly experienced international teachers, who present a mixture of theory, demonstrations and lots of hands-on practice.

Material: An extensive fully illustrated workbook is included with the workshop.

Dorthe and Peter took a complicated subject like anatomy and made it very easy to understand as well as remember. They're phenonemal instructors that take necessary time with you as an individual to show you exactly where and how to work on your clients. This is easily one of the best reflexology classes I have taken.

- Chantal Magaruh - Nevada, USA -

Touchpoint is well-known around the world for a high professional standard in reflexology. I recommend their teachings, which can widen your practice with great benefit.

- Hanne Marquardt - Black Forest, Germany -

Thank you much, Peter and Dorthe. You are both magnificent, so well-rounded and empathic, both as stellar individuals and as an exceptionally integrative and professional team. I am grateful to study with you both, such leading-edge pioneers!

- Petra van Noort, New York City -

Peter and Dorthe are internationally respected leaders in reflexology; both as practitioners and teachers. I encourage reflexologists everywhere to expand their theoretical horizons and integrate the hands-on techniques from this workshop in their daily practice. You and your clients will be happy with the results!

- Christine Issel - Sacramento, CA, USA -

Peter and Dorthe presented the most organized and professional training class I have ever attended in my adult life. As a 46-year-old veteran I have been through many classes from military training, to underwater welding, to different types of healing modalities. I was very impressed with the work Peter and Dorthe are doing. Thank you for the wealth of information I will be putting to valuable use. Cheers.
