Round about: Respiration

Two day international workshop in Copenhagen, Denmark for all therapists
This event is taught in English

You will be provided with updated knowledge of causes for respiratory ailments - and you learn new techniques, including Nerve Reflexology points, to effectively complement your current treatment.

Worldwide, over 1 billion people suffer from chronic respiratory problems (World Health Organization 2003), mainly non-communicative diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and allergic rhinitis (hay fever).

A new understanding of these diseases is slowly emerging, where the focus is on inflammatory processes as the primary cause. To achieve sustainable improvements for these diseases, we must help the body toward a state with less inflammation, a more balanced immune system, better overall communication between the body's cells, more appropriate use of the diaphragm, optimal diet, low stress level, peace of mind, etc.

It is a complex area, but with many therapeutic approaches. With the reflexology techniques, we can optimize the immune system, dampen the stress response and improve breathing pattern.

Topics include

  • Acute and chronic bronchitis, why is it chronic?
  • COPD, what is it really?
  • Asthma - can the breathing pattern be the cause?
  • Acute and chronic sinusitis, are fungi part of the picture?
  • Allergic rhinitis, understand the quick reactions of mucous membranes

Philosophy on breathing

  • Breathing as a bridge between the conscious and the unconscious
  • Spirit and breath
  • Respiratory rhythms - chronobiology
  • Expansion - contraction
  • Connections to the heart

A selection of Touchpoint techniques

  • Using dorsal and plantar aspects of the same reflexes
  • Reflexes for respiratory muscles
  • Reflexes for the diaphragm and its nerve supply
  • Nerve reflex point for the phrenicus nerve, and the connection between the diaphragm and inner organs
  • Reflex for the phrenic plexus - or is it the solar plexus?
  • Reflexes for bronchi and their concentration of lymph nodes
  • Treating the nose and sinuses in a new way
  • Nerve reflex point for the facial nerve, innervation of the mucous membranes in the nose and sinuses
  • Nerve reflex point for the trigeminal ganglion, a good point with painful sinuses

Additional techniques for self-treatment

  • Buteyko method for training a new breathing pattern
  • Simple dietary guidelines for asthma and other respiratory problems

Peter and Dorthe are internationally respected leaders in reflexology; both as practitioners and teachers. I encourage reflexologists everywhere to expand their theoretical horizons and integrate the hands-on techniques from this workshop in their daily practice. You and your clients will be happy with the results!

- Christine Issel - Sacramento, CA, USA -

Peter and Dorthe presented the most organized and professional training class I have ever attended in my adult life. As a 46-year-old veteran I have been through many classes from military training, to underwater welding, to different types of healing modalities. I was very impressed with the work Peter and Dorthe are doing. Thank you for the wealth of information I will be putting to valuable use. Cheers.

- Rigby Oughs - Boulder City, Nevada, USA -

Dorthe and Peter took a complicated subject like anatomy and made it very easy to understand as well as remember. They're phenonemal instructors that take necessary time with you as an individual to show you exactly where and how to work on your clients. This is easily one of the best reflexology classes I have taken.

- Chantal Magaruh - Nevada, USA -

Touchpoint is well-known around the world for a high professional standard in reflexology. I recommend their teachings, which can widen your practice with great benefit.
